My new brother

Mother is a loving, caring and sharing lady. As boys are worth more cattle than us mere lasses, Mother has clearly been given the short straw with three girls and only one Prince. We have a big house. She cooks for the masses every evening so we always have plenty of food left over. There’s enough space, food and love to go around. Why not add another boy? Meet Nick. I think he’s going to be 18 soon. Its a bit worrying considering that a lad like this is legally already allowed to be the father of children. Its a bit more than a bit worrying that Nicolas is going to be able to vote soon – his only concern is Krispy Kreme’s closing hours. And he’s got a car which he can’t drive. It was straight out of the showroom. A beautiful Polo. I love my Golfs. It has only taken him a fortnight for it to look like its been through Kashmir and back and driven by a blind man.

He’s picking up the culture. He eats roti with his hand. He manages an AssalamuShalomulaikum with Mother. He mentioned last night at his surprise when first entering our home that the house didn’t smell of curry. ‘It smelt quite nice actually!’ Muppet. He’s lovely. I even caught him helping my brother with Maths the other night. I hope my brother doesn’t corrupt him.

Meet Nick:

I still need to explain to him the whole concept of the changing-a-light-bulb bhangra move. He seemed to think it had something to do with switching the light on and off.
